Getting around Hua Hin
Songthaew Service
In many towns and cities (apart from Bangkok), the songthaew is the main form of public transport. Songthaews (literal meaning = two rows) are converted pick-up trucks with two rows of seating in the back for passengers.
In Hua Hin, the songthaews drive along set routes. When one has stopped for you, just jump in the back and ring the buzzer or bell in the back to indicate when you want to get off. Fares vary from town to town. In Hua Hin a short journey would usually be 10 Baht. If you 'charter' a songthaew as your own, it will cost much more. Songthaews to Ao Takiap leave from the intersection of Sasong and Dechanuchit Roads and those to Cha-am (north) and Pranburi (south) from the main highway of Phetkasem Road.
Songthaews can very often be chartered for a half-day or full-day of sightseeing. Agree to a rate with the driver and pay at the end of your journey.
Motorcycle Taxi
A cheap and easy way to get about in Hua Hin is by motorbike taxi, with prices starting at 15baht for a short trip. These guys work in teams and are situated at various spots around town. Motorcycle taxis are readily available, but bear in mind that most riders tend not to be very cautious and very rarely will you be offered a helmet. Ride at your own risk!!
Motorcycle / Bicycle / Car Rental
Hua Hin is a popular city of Thailand. Therefore, it is easy to find rental car service from major car rental company such as Budget, Alamo, Hertz or else. Or if you like a bit adventure, you can rent a motorcycle to getting around. However, please do not for get to use helmet properly for your safety. Hua Hin Hills Vineyard
Cha Am ATV Park
Hua Hin Market Village
|
Also known as Chopstick Mountain and can be seen to the south from Hua Hin beach. Approaching the hill from the beach you will see a 20m high Buddha statue, facing seaward, standing amongst some rocks at the foot of the hill. We are led to believe that the statue can be seen from the horizon. It’s about 15 minutes drive from the hotel.
A 40 minutes drive to the hills of Hua Hin’s finest vineyard, which is built on a former elephant corral - a sublime place where wild Asian elephants were domesticated. The terrain, comprising mostly of loamy-sand and slate, is conducive to the cultivation of grapes providing the seaside resort town of Hua Hin. A visit here affords you the luxury of basking in the coastal sunshine where you will be invited to learn more about viticulture and oenology while admiring the plush 200-rai vineyard.
Located just about 25 minutes away, is Cha-Am’s ATV Park. The ATV Park aims to enhance the whole family's adventure skills through various activities, such as ATV motor car riding on well-designed routes, horse riding, paintballing, and shooting, etc.
Hua Hin Market Village is the first large shopping complex to be built in Hua Hin. It is situated on Petchkasem road approximately 2km south of Hua Hin town center about 3 minutes drive from the hotel. With a Lotus supermarket, home furnishings, lots of small shops, clothing outlets, fast food outlets, a cinema complex and a bowling alley, the Market Village has just about everything you would expect from a modern commercial shopping center. |
